Canadian and coalition forces are bracing for a series of “spectacular enemy incidents” — including possible suicide bombings or other attacks — expected to begin over the coming days across southern Afghanistan, says the commander of the Canadian task force in Kandahar.

In for the long haul, says Harper

On his second day in war-ravaged Afghanistan, Prime Minister Stephen Harper signaled to Canadians back home to prepare for a long-term military commitment here, saying more casualties are a price that might have to be paid to bring stability to this battered country.
